buying and selling when bankrupt

Options
I have a serious problem I used to own my own house outright saved up worked hard and bought my own house however a few years ago I remortgaged to buy an overseas property unfortunately the recession has taken its toll and I was made bankrupt by the tax man I also have a suspended court order and mortgage arrears, recently my house has been attacked by yobs i've had windows smashed, van windscreen smashed been called vile names ect basically I've become a target so I really would love to sell my house (forgot to mention the property is now in negative equity)

My question is how would I go about selling this house now and buying somewhere else is this at all possible, please dont mention calling the police in these situations I've tried all that it just makes matters worse

If you were made bankrupt by the tax-man I don't understand how you can still "own" a house. You can't sell because you owe the bank more than it's worth. If you weren't a br it might have been possible to convert the n/e into an unsecured loan of some sort but that avenue appears to be closed to you now.

Have you posted your question on the br board? They're a bit more knowledgeable about such matters over there.

You're bankrupt? How come the Official Receiver has not taken your property? I can only guess it's because of the negative equity (ie the OR would have to pay the mortgage lender and would end up with nothing - so is kindly allowing you to continue to live there).

So be grateful you still have a home, however problematic. If you sell, you'll either have to pass the money you get to the mortgage lender, or to the OR. And if you have any other resources to put into a new propwrty, I imagine the OR will want that too.
