Insurance -Business Use for a named driver??

I have always made sure that I have had class 1 business cover on car insurance as both drivers occasionally claim mileage allowances for travelling in the car.

My OH is a named driver on my policy with Churchill. The certificate covers:
.. use by the policyholder or by the policyholder's spouse each in person in connection with the businesses of the Policyholder or spouse ..
so - if she uses my car to travel to a course (say) and claims a mileage allowance, she is still covered.

I've had a quote from LV but only the policy holder is covered for business use. I didn't spot that at first as it doesn't make the exception clear.

Aviva's quote states:
SDP&C and employers business use
Social, Domestic, Pleasure and commuting and all drivers (including unnamed drivers under open driving) will be covered for the personal business of the Policyholder and Spouse/Civil/Domestic partner and for the business of the Policyholders Employer or Business Partner.
which suggests that she wouldn't be covered for the business of her employer whilst driving my car.

I will contact both companies tomorrow to clarify the position, but what are other people's experiences of business use cover for a named driver?

Aviva have twice told me on the phone that my wife as a named driver is covered for use on her employer's business, in spite of the wording quoted by the OP

Why resurrect a two year old thread, but anyway I hope you have asked for confirmation of that in writing, I would not trust the word of someone on a phone call, if it came to a claim the company may deny all knowledge of it.
