Just hoping for someone thats got some insight really.
The car cut out, would start again , then cut out. Done this a couple of times but then failed to start altogether.
It initially went to a garage, who have got as far as saying the fuels getting to the filter. Next its going to come to me to have a wee play about with as due to the age and the £70PH diesel specialist costs, it's not economical to get it fixed professionally.
So the basics are.....
Sender unit was out/cleaned some 400 miles ago. Fuel filter changed within 120 miles of this happening.
It gets run on bio.
Fuel pump? Is this easily changed? Any other possibilities/ideas?

Got it back today, removed the fuel filter and noticed the pipe that runs down the middle looked too long for the filter.
Cut half an inch off the bottom of the pipe and it's going again.
It's possible the wrong filters been supplied, one thats not as tall as the original and this meant the pipe was too close to the bottom restricting the fuel supply.
I know between my astra and my corsa theres a difference in how tall the fuel filters are although they both fit both housings.0 -
:(Does any one know were the cut of solenoid is for the diesel fuel on a 1.7d 2000 model (June) and hou do I test to se if it is working or not.
My utility starts for a few seconds and then just cuts out there are diesel in the tank and in the system filter has been changed, about 1000km ago and had no problems before that.0
