I've been thinking about have this done and would really like to, the only thing that puts me off is having it done in the middle of a shop - or shopping centre!! and people walking passed having a good old look (like i do when i see someone else sat in the chair!:D)

I'd advise people not to go to the likes of Superdrug but to an independent salon as they never charge more than £5.
Plus they are so much better.
I pay £4 to have mine done in Wembley and if I want them tinted it's £3 extra!
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

I have been getting threaded for a few years and I find it really painful in an irritating, feel a bit sick kind of way. Anyway I decided to try a wax instead and the wax woman said that because the thread woman took from above the brow as well as below that my eyebrows woud move further up or something like that so now I worry they'll start to wander up my forehead until they are perched on top of my head. Every time I go I sit there thinking I'll never do this again but I think it's because my eyebrow hairs are really thick. I always refuse a upper lip because I think it will come back in darker (I'm very blonde) and also I'd have to walk through the shopping centre with a big, red tash to match my big red eyebrows.

I think it depends on who does it rather than where as ive had a few bad experiences with some independent salons, and ive paid £13 for the pleasure:eek:. Best to go somewhere recommended by someone whose eyebrows you like maybe? Hth

I had mine done in the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe for £5. This was a few weeks ago, and the shape was good. They were slightly thinner than I normally pluck them, but a very good shape. I would go back there. It took only a few minutes, and I wasn't very red afterwards.

I had mine done in the Superdrug on Piccadilly in Manchester (not the train station!) It was a fiver and the woman was very good. However, the small asian salons never charge more than five pounds so look around. I've seen it advertised for as low as £2.50. It really is the best way to get a perfect eyebrow shape.

This thread is really annoying me:mad::rotfl:I pay.....wait for it......£15:eek: and I do it twice cos dd has it done too and even worse I have to travel 15 miles for the pleasure:mad: I have searched and searched locally and surrounding and not one person does threading only the Fenwicks shop in the nearest large town which is where I go, yes they do an outstanding job but when I lived in london it was £5 at the most and there were loads of places doing it, I do live in the sticks now but its not that remote its just the land that beauty forgot:rotfl:ok rant over:D
Thank you for this site Martin

    Good luck for the future
  • I had mine done at the Trafford Centre at Superdrug for a fiver a couple of weeks ago - she did a good job, it hurt a bit though, but she shaped them well.

No way! She probably means just 1mm or so; anything more would require a surgical brow lift!

I've never seen a Superdrug that does threading but thankfully there's a girl with an independent stall at my local shopping center who does it for £5. :)
  • my mom went and they did her whole face for £4!! she had that bum fluff stuff and a fine mustache , she said she misses the mustache though:eek::rotfl:
