Barclaycard - Paying Off The Cheapest Debt First??

I was under the impression that following a recent FSA ruling, that credit card companies could not make you pay off the lowest interest debt first, while continuing to accrue a large amount of interest with a high interest debt on the same account - is that not correct?

Both I and my partner have recently got Barclaycard Platinums and have made large balance transfers. I have spent a few hundred pounds on the card before making my first balance transfer and I was told by the person I spoke to that the CHEAPEST debt would be paid off FIRST - my partner has just done the same and received the same information, so I don't think I am mistaken.

They are mistaken - perhaps they are behind with the staff training LOL

Have a look at your paper statement when it arrives - this will confirm the details.
