Has anyone used 123Reg and which domains to have

Hi all
I'm looking to register some domain names for an online business, has anyone used 123Reg as they seem to be fairly cheap.
Also which domain extensions should I buy, I'm thinking .co.uk, .net, .eu, .org and .biz
Are there any others which I should snap up while I'm at it?
Thanks

I use 123 for our charity website and it is fine - in the future though if you want to have other websites in that name - make sure you buy them now.0

I have used 123-reg for 8 years or so now with about 12 domains. I am happy with the service and will continue to use them. Not had a problem. For work we have both .co.uk and .com including a common mis-spelling0

I have used easily.co.uk since the 1990's - some are slightly cheaper, but always been very happy with the service, so stayed with them over the years. Worth a try?0

I use them for names but not hosting - never had a problem!0

I use 123 reg and have never had a problem, I'm not techie at all, I have about 3 sites with them and some domain names I've let go, they email you a few weeks before they need renewing, I would buy a .com everytime, it works best in the US if you ever look to expand to that level.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I also use 123-reg as my domain registrar, but I use other providers for email (GMX) and web/wap hosting (zoka.cc).0

Hi thanks for all the replys.
The plan is to register the domains now and then have them point to an eshop which will be hosted seperately.
As for the domain extensions are there any others I should consider apart from the ones I have listed?0 -
I would only bother with the .com and .co.uk, the others are needless if you have those two. Nobody thinks "ohhh ceebeedeebee dot something... I wonder if it was dot net, tv or eu?". For business in the UK and world, get the .co.uk and .com, job done. If you're worried about squatters, you can always evict them if they are "passing off" as being your company pointing to other sites, but your punters will assume .com and .co.uk every time first.

I have used 123Reg in the past to buy domains but never really used them for hosting (although I did discover that printing.com use 123 for hosting and it was pretty poor). I moved my domain to heartinternet and my chum who has his own computer business hosts my website - he charges a reasonable amount each month.
I would also say only get a dot com address and a .co.uk address - these are the only ones really worth having..the dot com addresses will certainly ensure that your website is viewed by those in America.0 -

I completely agree. You could go mad and register every possible domain extension but you're just upping your outlay for no real reason.Blogger, Journalist and Author writing about scams and online ripoffs0
