I have a friend who I want to call on a hospital phone - number begins 0700 but I'm not able to use 1899 or 18866 etc as they don't let you. As call charges are 48p per minute any one know how I can make cheaper calls/
Thanks

Call them on their mobile (make sure they set the ringer to silent), I don't believe the hype about mobiles in hospital, when I was on the trolley in the anaesthetic room waiting to be put under earlier this year, one of the nurses came out of the OR to answer her mobile which was in a coat on the wall next to me, she promptly went back into the OR talking on the mobile. It's all about forcing people to call these very expensive phones in order to pay back the company which invested loads of money installing them in the first place, there was a news article on it not long ago.0
