There is a Canadian who lives outside Enniskillen who reports on Belfast Giants games - isn't that a coincidence!

Seriously did you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed today? When im talking to family or friends I would just say "Im going to Ireland.." and they would ask whereabouts. I wouldn't specifically say "Northern Ireland" Do you know how many times people from the UK say "Are you American" and when I say no Im Canadian they say "its all the same" I dont go off my head and post rude remarks about it however, which may I add have NOTHING to do with the OP. So we may be lacking in our geography but you seem to be lacking in your manners.

The point is I apologized for my "ignorance" in not saying Northern Ireland, but your comment was highly rude and un-necessary.

Really? Well us Canadians are slowly taking over the world!! What kind of sport is Belfast Giants?

But considering Canada is 10x the size of NI, I doubt we know eachother :) Despite the fact I constantly get asked "Ohhh your from Canada do you know...."

And sadly I will only be in Derry, Enniskillen, and Belfast for a few hours in each apart from Enniskillen which I will be staying over. Maybe Ill ask if someone knows the Canadian :)

I appreciate all yoru help guys I spoke to a few hotels this morning very friendly and helpful.

very well said to some of the more petty minded members!!!

Come to "Norn Iron" and you'll find very few ignorant people. Most of us are very friendly and the scenery is lovely. Unfortunately you may have to deal with stupid people but I think you get that the world over and please don't let it put you off!!

PS - Are you in belfast for a specific reason as you can fly straight in to Derry/Londonderry (yet another policitical minefield!!) from a lot of locations! In case is saves you some time.

Have a great time! When are you here?

Well im doing some work, starting in Derry, then to Enniskillen, then over to Belfast so I just figured with a rental car renting and dropping off from belfast would be good, plus being able to see the drive would be nice! (end of march)

Ive been doing a lot of reading and Norn Iron looks BEAUTIFUL, spoke to some lovely hotel owners this morning who were very sweet. Im looking forward to the drive and the beautiful Greenery that NI has to offer!
