Anyone drive a Kia Picanto 1 (2009-on) ?

........ if so, should it have a steering lock? :o

I know it doesn't have much but this is a pretty basic thing I didn't think would be cut from a basic version :rotfl:

Concerned that it's maybe just not working.

On the Hyundais and Kias I've driven the steering lock was a bit odd -- it didn't immediately lock but the wheel needed to be at around the 8 o'clock position for it to lock.

IIRC the Primera was the same.

I don't recall if the Picanto was like that -- haven't driven one in about 6 years now.

Oh right - so you need to leave the wheels turned in order to lock the steering?

    Odd.

Still doesn't seem to want to lock when the wheel is turned. Can feel it try to when you pull the key out.

So much for the PDI - "Check function of steering wheel lock - tick!" :rotfl:

Sorted - still wasn't turning it enough :o

    Stupid design imo.

Have you turned the wheel all the way around, with the key out?

    ETA: Cross posts.
