Car Insurance Help

If it was as simple as you put it Quentin then why do the majority of people go through their own insurance co's when involved in an accident!!
And if you get a hire car then you are then getting a credit hire car which effectively puts £££'s on to everybody else's premiums every year.
Recommended repairers come with insurance backed guarantees and if your choice of repairer screws up, you've no come back against the insurance co and would be left to your own devices trying to sort it all out.0 -

If you go direct to the third party insurer they will arrange a hire car (Not credit hire) at their own cost and expense and will save themselves the excessive credit hire costs0 -
Only if a claim has been reported and there is an admission of liability.
That is not always the case, many people post on this forum about accidents not being their fault, third parties not telling the truth etc.0 -

It is as simple as has been put!
Many people go through their own insurer because they are unaware they can go straight to the third party!
Amd many insurers have dedicated "innocent third party claims departments" anxious to bend over backwards to accomodate third parties who have been involved with their insured.
(You can only use your own insurer if you have comprehensive insurer, and if liability isn't disputed claiming off your own insurer should really be a last resort, as you are just giving yourself extra hassle - and you would still need to claim uninsured losses off the third party anyway!)0 -

You seem to have missed the point.
This whole discussion on the advantage of using the third party insurer is for those occasions where liability has been accepted!0 -
No its wasn't the original point because you recommended to the OP that if they had an accident the future they claim directly off the third party so unless you have a crystal ball...........0

Agree-the "Admission" of liability at the accident scene is totally different when the person actually gets the claim form in front of him/her, they Often then have "Second thoughts" as some cleverclogs will alway tell them "With no witnesses" you dont need to accept liability, etc, etc, As I know to my cost.Only if a claim has been reported and there is an admission of liability.

Unnecessary sarcasm.
Your "crystal ball" comment just seems to be an attempt to cause trouble.
I actually said this:Next time you are involved in an incident like this when liability isn't disputed, claim directly off the third party, and avoid all this.
So what is your real agenda by posting in this vein?0 -
Sometimes it is not as easy as you make it out to be.
Your giving your opinion, I am giving my opinion.0 -
Opinions are fine.
But when you wrongly paraphrase another's posts to enable you to descend to a sarcastic put down expect it to be challenged!
How was that "crystal ball" comment an expression of your opinion?0
