I got a quote today, Which will be for a right to buy purchase in scotland for approx £55,000. Does it sound ok??
Conveyancing Fee £ 400.00

VAT £ 80.00

£ 480.00

Outlays

Coal Report £ 32.40

Form 10 Report £ 40.00

Registration Dues of Disposition £ 120.00

Registration Dues of Standard Security £ 60.00

Total £ 732.40

I also got a quote from conveyancing direct, but i think i would rather deal with someone in person rather than by post/email

>> Our upfront fee for a transaction is only £320 plus vat and outlays.
>> For a purchase of £60,000.00 the outlays would be £250 including £0
>> stamp duty, if applicable, making a total cost of £634.00. This
>> takes into consideration the increase in outlays due at the start of
>> this year.
>>
>> We do not charge for noting interest on your behalf, giving us the
>> opportunity to find out more about the current status from the
>> selling agent on the property that you are interested in pursuing.
>>
>> We also do not charge for unsuccessful offers, making our fee
>> structure extremely competitively priced.

Don't go with an online conveyancer. Get two more quotes from proper solicitors and compare. Then go with whichever you have most confidence in. Can anyone give you a personal recommendation?

I've used online conveyancers twice. Although service wasn't always perfect, neither has the service of high street solicitors that I've used before. I'd use online agaiin.

Looks perfectly reasonable for a standard high-street firm.
