The Ascot meeting is an especially good deal because it features the group 3 Sagaro Stakes*, a free racecard and free tickets are available on the day.

*Each racing jurisdiction has its own way of classifying races, but the very best in each may be included in the Pattern, which is organised across Europe and Asia to compare races. Very roughly speaking, Group 1 races are the best and should be attracting horses from all over the continent/world to compete against each other to determine which are the best. Group 2 races are trials for group 1 races, and horses which win or do well in these races have the prize money to take on the big boys in group 1 races. Group 3 races should be attracting horses from all over the country, and again the winners should then be going on to take on the group 2 and group 1 races. The Sagaro Stakes that day is a group 3, and will attract horses whose owners and trainers fancy they will be good stayers, and will be trying to win the prize money (there's £65000 up for grabs) to take on the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, and the other top stayers races this season: Goodwood Cup, Doncaster Cup, Prix du Cadran, etc.

Also, just in case one of the free meetings isn't convenient, Towcester is nearly always free (not Easter Monday or Boxing Day) and children are nearly always free (not the festivals during term time (Cheltenham NH Festival and Royal Ascot).
