AVG Free.........not for long.

I got a pop up from AVG this morning telling me that my Free AVG would stop on january 15 next year and would i like to upgrade to the latest version.
Is this real, has anybody else had this, or is it a scam.
I have had no problems with AVG and it has kept my PC safe ever since i installed it, so i would be sad to loose it, and i would probably buy the new product, unless you know of anything as good ( free ).

Look, all that is happening is that AVG are upgrading their product from 7.1 to 7.5. It remains free, you just have to install the new version.poppy100 -
