Matched betting is not a form of gambling.

Gambling involves an element of chance. Matched betting, done properly, does not. I really wish people would do some research before they start preaching on this topic.

I didn't realise I was 'preaching', I thought I was offering an opinion.

As for your other comment, I'm surprised you can't see that the 'element' of chance' is in whether people do it properly or not. I have no doubt there are many many people who have made money by matched betting, but I also know there are just as many who can't quite get their head around it.

Really? Do you have a source for your statistics?

It's only fraud if you get caught.

Ok. I'm not going to fight with you. My comments have obviously got your back up a bit so I am going to leave this here.

Most people will not be quite as pedantic as you and will realise I made more of a general comment derived from real world conversations, as opposed to a statistically correct one.

Fine, you don't understand it. But don't try and put people off with nonsenical claims about it dragging people into an inexorable downward spiral of gambling. I don't know of a single person who has become a gambler through matched betting, whereas I know of a number of ex-gamblers who have made plenty of money out of it - it's actually helped cure them of their addiction rather than the opposite.

There is an element of chance in crossing a road if you dont do it properly.

Its not the easiest of things to get your head around (matched betting) but I do think ANYBODY (except the troll) could learn it in over a weekend, all the people on the board help loads if you think you cant do it, give it a go and see! You can make about £750 with very little effort, and far more , in fact its seemingly endless, if you have the wish. Also at the moment there is an offer on the board for £20 that you dont even have to invest any of your own money in if you wish to try it out. :)
Profit from matched betting on Dec 1st £9,732.

I was going to leave it......but I had to come back to laugh at you.

So as well as being a pedant, you also have narcisstic tendancies?

I didn't realise your experiences and only your experiences were what counted.

... and back to the actual subject:

Spending Diaries are they way ahead, Princess - as is posting on Moozie's 'daily spend' thread on here - keeps me on the straight and narrow (most of the time at least). My man and I learnt how to make authentic curries, and since haven't had a single takeaway. Highly recommend that!

Agree wholly with bobbadog! After one too many disappointing takeaways we now make our own. Significantly cheaper, we can make a homemade pizza without having to be charged an extra 50p for extra onion!! LOL like THATS value for money. A homemade pizza our fave- chorizo, onion mushroom & sweetcorn costs no more than 1.20, to buy locally it would be at least a tenner. Plus you dont have to hover around the door waiting with the chequebook and you know your foods gonna be piping- not tepid :) we make everything. Toinight we are having a chicken chowmein with prawn toasts ( OK, im not making these, but I bought them RTC in waitrose) and the whole shebnang is gonna cost less than £3 for 2 of us. You couldnt even get 2 portions of boiled rice at our takeaway for that!

    Secondly- and this is IMPORTANT!!!!!
If yu are going to chop & change your providers- PLEASE PLEASE join quidco beforehand ( in fact do that now) its free to join, but you pay a fiver out of your proceeds as a membership. If you use uswitch or simply switch to change your providers, youll get £15 for each one. Likewise for insurances lots iof insurers ( pru/ barclays/ lloyds all the big names) will give you up to 100 quid for switching- through quidco.

Theres lots of free bits on there as well , dvd tarting, signing up for catalogues, or email newsletters etc which will all add a few pence to the pot & it all stacks up. IOf you need to bbuy Xmas presents, and you are avoiding the high st- do buy through quidco- they qare all there, HMV, playy, boots, tescos and lots of smaller companies too. If we spend money- we ALWAYS check quidco suppliers first. Quidco, once the payments have cleared, stick the money into your bank. No hassle at all :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Well let's see, I've spent two years, countless hours and thousands of posts on messageboards discussing this subject. Not necessarily very healthy or something to be proud of, but there you go. So yes, I do think that's a pretty good source. Where have you gleaned your oh-so-relevant insights from?

We don't really need the DVDs. Its only dd who watches them.
Hi I go to the library every week and take out a dvd for my ds, for £1. This might be cheaper than renting from a store? And at our library you get to have it on loan for a week, so ds sees it lots of times in the week
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
