Oh yes dont give up. The fact he isnt acting agressive means he is just a bit obsessed with her right now, im pretty sure he will mellow when she starts giving him a slap across the face for being too rough
We introduced our male kitten to our existing cat (3yrs old this year) and they hit it off straight away and we were very glad we took advise and got a boy because they really rough and tumble hard. Charlie the kitten is coming up to six months old and all of a sudden Ollie is hissing and growling at him and wants to spend the majority of time outside (although they still have moments of play and grooming) but this is down to Charlie reaching sexual maturity. His hormones are racing and his smell is changing and Ollie is freaking out. We are very positive that things will go back to normal when the kitten is neutered
However just to put a spanner in the works, you will have to plan for your new female kitten growing up and POSSIBLY despising other cats. People often forget that cats are predominatley solitary animals and multi cat households can be a nightmare as a poster has already said about their ragdolls.Ant. :cool:0

            Hi!
We've got two male adult neutered cats, and we got a male kitten just before xmas. We had the same situation as you , they were fighting and being pretty vicious, growling, spitting, hissing the lot! They do get better over time, they are fine now. Initially we supervised their contact, my husband would hold the kitten, then we let the adults in, and reassured them, gave them treats, let them smell around toe room where he had been, and eventually we progressed to putting the kitten on the floor but being very close by. Now, they are fine most of the time, the kitten gets a bit too boisterous for the adults, but they have established their own social order and get along quite nicely now.
Hang on in there with yours, they will sort it out between them, but it does take some time.:cool:0

aww- im going through the same thing but its my older kitten going for my new baby kitty aged 8 weeks.
shes so much bigger than him and chases him then catches him---like prey.
although to her its pretty much a normal cat game, he is a whole lot smaller, the thing is he does try to pat her back wih his tiny paws. i have just had to limit the exposure they have to each other so that he comes to no harm.
i did notice yesterday though a weird thing happened - he arrived with bum matts so it was close to the tail and in the end i had to bathe him to get it out as it was dried on the skin.
well he came out lovely fluffy and fresh smelling of baby shampoo:) Georgia seemed to enjoy his new aroma and give him a few gentle play pats but no pouncing or neck pinning!!!
oddly they both eat together and no agression is shown- its only when they leave the feeding territory that the problem begins- although tbf little kitty has now started trying to find her to start th game!:rotfl:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0

I just wanted to upadte this as I didn't wan't anyone who might find it in the history, in the same situation to think all will be a lost cause.
We've had a brilliant week. Big cat seems to have accepted that little cat is not going anywhere, he's happy to leave her alone now and they have even both sat on the sofa together, although big cat tends to like to go and find his own quiet spot in the house, unless my knee is free. They still fight but it is mostly initiated by little cat chasing big cat's tailand it seems to be play fighting. I haven't got to the point where they are left together at night but I am calm now and loving having 2 cats around.
It took a long time, 3 weeks to really see a proper improvement. I didn't really find feliway helped, or made a particular change in my cats but maybe that is just them.
Typing this with a kitten on my shoulder so apologies for typos. Thanks for all the advice I received.0

washing them always helps as it gets rid of any strange smells and then they pick up the smells of home.pinkcandyflossprincess wrote: »

So I talk to the cats instead.0
