Black Circles Tyres (fitted at home).

Hubby has just had 2 tyres fitted at home via a mobile fitter at no extra cost. He's just stated this is the best ever service received from getting tyres fitted - a proper fitter (whatever that means). lol
No attempt at up-selling either, so could be a big plus for any vulnerable female frightened of being ripped-off. Paid for in advance and just needed to be fitted and off he went.

He bought them from Black Circles after going through Topcashback and selected JS Tyres;
c/o JS Tyre Factors Front Street, Hobson Industrial Estate, Burnopfield, ,Tyne and Wear
They were actually fitted by a guy from Tyres2U (Peter from Stanley, County Durham). A bit of a way out to get to us, so worth a bit of praise. Maybe worth a look if you are after cheap tyres fitted at home in the North East, probably at work as well.

Unfortunatley there are two cheaper options within a 5 minute drive of my house.

Elite in Rainham undercut them on every tyre in my required size and preffered brands, Toyo, Avon and GoodYear Excellence..

Costco undercut them on Michelins and the newly stocked Continentals.

No point for me in looking around, but I may just be lucky that some good specialists are based near me.

Their prices are certainly cheaper than many.

There is a mobile tyre fitter on Blackcircles based in Morpeth. Only he states that he charges an extra £10 per tyre fitted on top of what you pay to Blackcircles. Rather just go to a garage where fitting is included.

That's what I forgot to add. doh :o
There was a choice of 3 mobile fitters, but as you state some charge a fee for mobile fitting - this fitter DIDN'T, which made this deal even better and cheaper. The fitted price advertised on Black Circles was the price paid (cackback from Topcashback was 2.52% and quickly tracked) - so no charge for mobile fitting. Could be perfect for getting your tyres changed at work and not only saves money, but obviously time.
I think this would be perfect for anyone who fears from getting "advice" from garages stating God knows what needs doing instead of just fitting tyres. Unforunately you hear horror stories, especially from vulnerable females paying for "extras" not actually needed - upselling.

bigjl, I agree Costco do excellent deals now and again on Michelins (we nearly did this on our last car), but is it still the case where you need to buy 4 to get the offer??

Anyway, as a female, I would certainly consider the mobile fitter if one can do it at no extra cost in your area, like the guy here in the North East - well worth a look.

You could remove your old ones yourself, and fit your new ones yourself, you only need a couple of tyre irons and a big hammer.

Then take for balancing only to somewhere. Probably not worth the hassle, which is why I buy mine from a cheap independent tyre fitter all inclusive it beats the online prices handsdown.

Agree with this option, some things are best dealt with locally.

The prices I use for comparison don't include the 4 for the price of 3 offers.

Blackcircles aren't the cheapest, but when Costco have an offer on then they are by far the cheapest, they are cheaper than ATS for 4 when ATS are having a 4 for 3 offer, thus showing how expensve ATS are.

As as a mobile fitter being preferable for a female, I don't agree with that, it may be convenient, but you are inviting a stranger to your house, which is not as safe as visiting a garage with lots of people around.

When you buy tyres at Costco you have up to 90 days to have them fitted, so if you only need two then you can keep the other two in your shed until they need done, then just pop down with your receipt and get the other two fitted.

The price for Michelins at Costco have gone through the roof, they're no were near as cheap as they used to be. 4 for 3 is the only way I would buy there now.
  • My favoured tyre bay usually beats the online prices without trying inc fitting... And they can source everything I've asked for next day and still beat online prices...
