It is a sneaky way of taking money from your credit/debit card if you forget your renewal date and haven't given clear instructions that you do not want auto renewal. Thanks - I had the same thing happen with the RAC - no warning, no letter, just find out after the fact that they had charged me, and far more than I paid the first year.

Yep - I specifically rang Green Flag several times in the months leading up to the end of my 12 month period to check they had me flagged as NOT auto-renewing.

Twice it had reverted back. I ended up calling on renewal day and cancelling myself.
