New Car Brokers - Broadspeed

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new car and having searched the net, the new car broker Broadspeed is offering the best price.

My questions are:

Has anyone used them?
If so how reliable are they?
How do the trade in values offered differ from a dealer?

Before all the 'don't buy new brigade' jump down my throat, I should point out that the price Broadspeed are quoting for new is cheaper than I can find for a slightly used (less than 1 year old) version.

Broadspeed have been around in one guise or another for many years.

I've not used them, but as far as I know they are reliable.

Not sure what you mean by differing trade-in values.

Online brokers such as Broadspeed are not really interested in trade-ins.

If they offer you a price, it will be a basic trade value.

It matters not what the new car price is or what the trade-in price is.

You should focus on the difference - the cost to change.

Honest John often recommends them, afaik they're fine.

    Another vote for Broadspeed.

Note that Broadspeed are an "internet broker/introducer". They advertise the prices of cars on their website, you agree to buy, and the pass on your details to their supplying UK dealer. After the initial contact you deal solely with the UK dealer for deposit and payment.

As far as I'm aware, Broadspeed themselves do not deal directly with part exchanges. That is something for you to deal with when the UK dealer contacts you.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my original post, I understand that it is the supplying dealer that provides the trade in value.

What I was wondering is, if the dealer who are selling a car at £3000 less than list price, do they then offer a ridiculously low trade in value to compensate.

I was just wondering if anyone had used Broadspeed and had experience of the supplying dealers trade in values.

Might I suggest getting the best online price then actually going to your local dealers direct and seeing what they can do? :)

What car is it you're thinking of buying? :D

Just to add that I had no problems obtaining a fair p/x price for my new car despite a substantial discount (not via Broadspeed but actually cheaper than their price to start with )

I would think so, you cannot have it all, there is only so much profit in any vehicle, perhaps better to sell your own car and just buy your new one without part-ex.
