Hi
We (me, hubby and 9 year old son) are travelling to Toronto for 2 weeks in early April. Does anyone know of Clean, centralised (we plan to use public transport for Toronto) budget accommodation. Also what area should we look in to be central for Toronto. We plan to do Toronto for about 5 days then go exploring 'wild country' for week then back to Toronto for a couple of days.
Any Ideas on locations, trips or recommendations etc would gratefully be received.
many thanks

We have stayed in the Toronto Youth Hostel. Just over the road from the Anglican Cathedral in central Toronto. It wasn't particularly cheap but it was convenient. They have a members kitchen and there is a grocery store about 10 mins walk away. Here is the link:

Depends how much you class as budget I suppose. There is a wide selection of hotels in Toronto, do a quick search on Expedia for example and look for downtown hotels to be nearer to all the attractions.
Plenty to do in Toronto for a few days, inc CN tower, Center Island, Museums, Toronto Zoo, Canada Wonderland and of course the shops. Discount tickets are available if you want to save on multiple attractions.
Within a 90 minute drive you have Niagara Falls, plenty to do there for 2 or 3 days. Again a good selection of hotels to chose from. In the other direction of Toronto, a few hours drive up to Ottowa or Montreal, then there are the lakes and 1000 islands.0 -
I stayed in B&B in Scarborough.
It was very reasonable-very nice and was easy to get into the city.
