Legal Direct Recoveries

Hi All

I have the Capital One alert service and just got my weekly update, and there was the following on there:

New Credit Agreement Summary

Company Name: LEGAL DIRECT RECOVERIES
Account Type: Mail Order Agency
Account No: XXXXXX7100

so I produced a report and I cannot even see the 'agreement' on there!

I also noticed this bit of information which confuses me:

Mail Order Agency from Shop Direct Finance Company Ltd (I) / XXXXXX7100

Start Date16/04/2010
Start Date: 16/04/10 (this was when it was a non credit account only)
Credit Limit: £250
Date Updated: 01/03/11
Date Satisfied: 26/02/11
Status: Settled

Now I am confused here, as they only put my limit up to £300 today and have just this minute let me place an order?!

Legal Direct have been ringing me this week.
They havbeen telling me they are a 'get your CC's wiped' company.

They got short shrift from me as I don't have any debt, so they are obviously scamming mofo's

Legal Direct Recoveries are actually Shop Direct.
My Empire account comes up under this name but my additions account shows Shop Direct.
Looks like they have updated your account...ie will now show as Legal Direct with your new limit...don't understand why they have marked your previous account as settled though...when my Empire changed names it just carried on as one account with all previous history intact.
May be worth a query with Equifax as essentially it is one long standing account with nearly a years payment history.

I called SDG, they basically said that as far as she was concerned the Legal Direct Rocoveries account was nothing to do with either of my active accounts with them, I stated that the account number given was the same for both, she said my Very account is what they see as a perfect account with no bad history etc.

She also explained that the reason it was settled was because when the CRA were updated, I had a zero balance with no orders, so it automatically updates with 'settled' - she said next month it will be active again as there are orders.

Like I say, I can see no mention of LDR on my credit file, it was just the alert. Both accounts I have with them, within my report are listed as SDG accounts!

    Hi there

Legal direct recoveries are shop direct financial eg very/additions/empire ect.
They will tell you until they are blue in the face that they are not anything to do with them but they are.

I had a problem a few years ago with an order being stolen as was left unsigned for on my doorstep, cat was very unhelpful the i started receiving letters from legal direct recoveries and they also appeared on my credit file but the account numbers did not match up to any of my accounts.

When i finaly got a call from someone higher up at the catauloge i asked them about ldr and they admited it was to do with the cat company.

Even though i have no missed payments and no balance on any of my 2 cats at the moment one of them still shows up on my credit alerts as ldr and i know this as everytime my credit limit is raised to entice me to order off the cat i get an alert with my credit report stating ldr previous credit limit xxx new limit xxx

    Hope that helps
