Need advice re printer broken after 3 months

I bought a HP printer from Argos just before Christmas. As I do alot of printing, I decided to take out an extended warranty for it. I paid £34.99 for the printer and £5.99 for the warranty. Now, three months down the line, the printer has died on me
It won't feed the paper through everytime, and when it does, it crumples it up on one side. I have checked as well as possible, and it doesn't seem as though anything is inside it that shouldn't be.
So, I want to take it back. I found a much better printer at a better price on amazon, but before buying it, want to know where I stand. Can anyone help?

You can take it back, but they may insist on a repair or replacement.Gone ... or have I?0

Would prefer a replacement. Then I can at least sell it on. Won't be using HP printers again.
Many thanks

What dmg said. If you're doing a lot of printing, you're taking a risk with a £35 printer. The warranty will cover you for repairs.
I'm a bit confused as to what you're expecting with overuse on a cheap printer. You took out the extended warranty for repairs, so you have that.
Why did you take out a warranty if you want a different printer just a few months later? If it's a "better price", you're still gonna run into trouble if you use it too much. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

You've had one problem and you will never use that brand again? Bit of an overreaction!
Which model is it? I had a problem with my HP which was easily sorted.Gone ... or have I?0 -

I didn't know I would find a better model at a cheaper price a few months later. I don't own a crystal ball. Wish I did though
Also, I did not expect for me to pay for it, and the extended warranty, then for it to break on me within a few months! You expect things to last a bit longer than 3 months. Well, I do anyway.
I've bought an even cheaper printer (at £24.99 a Lexmark) before which lasted me years! At £35 it might be "cheap", but as it was reduced from £50 to begin with, I thought it would be decent. Especially as it's an all-in-one.
Yes, I have had bad experiences with HP before, but as it seemed a bargain, pushed them to the side. 1050 I think the model number is. I have found an Epson SX218 for £24.99 (regular prices are around £60 I believe) and the ink for it I can get 10 cartridges for under £13! (admittedly, not the proper Epson, but just as good)
But thank you for your replies. I will take it back tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks to all posters :A0 -
If you print a lot, look at CISS systems for the Epson, you can pay between five and a hundred quid for one, so keep your eyes peeled as they're substantially similar anyway! You get topup inks for 69p for 100ml.
If paper is crumpling to one side, check feed rollers, sounds asymetric to me. Or your paper guide is too loose, and it could be an easy fix?0 -
Easy fix - there is a little disc on the spool thingy that has come loose. It isn't needed, if you take it off it will resolve the problem permanently.Gone ... or have I?0
