Hi all, im looking for some advice.
My car insurance is due for renewal next week. Unfortunatley I recently had a minor accident where I hit the front of someones car at the start of the year. My insurance renewal has now increased from last year at £500 to over £2000 this year and my NCD being reduced by 2 years:mad:
I am looking for new insurance at the moment but when i put in that I have had a recent accident they are asking for the total cost of the recent claim. As the claim is still open my insurance are unable to tell me this. How do i reflect this when searching for insurance, Search sites will not let me contiinue without putting a price in.

you can put a estimate, e.g 10k, or 5k. if the other person has 4 people assume £12k min.
Once your claim settles you should inform the insurance company who will adjust your insurance.
If its more then your insurance will go up, if its less you will get a refund.
Do a few estimates and keep them with you.0 -
We were in the same situation when my son had to renew his insurance last month (his claim is still ongoing). We were told that we had to phone his insurance company up and ask for the reserve price. We were told that this was the most they would expect to pay out for the claim. You then put that figure down for the total.0

Hi the reserve with some companies is just a figure they put for each claim when it is given to a solicitor, some insurance have a low figure some have a high figure.
hence when you get the actual figure you should contact them to get it amended.0
