Is it not the case that - as long as they have issued a certificate that covers you in circumstance A, then an insurance company cannot refuse to pay to a third party in circumstance A, because of condition of the policy not mentioned on the certificate. After all, the third party has no idea what is in the fine print of your policy.

There is a road traffic act Certificate of Insurance specifying the vehicle and named driver, this takes precedence over any other policy.0
