Received a letter today from SQN services stating the following

Dear XX,

We are writing to you because we are trying to contact XXX, concerning an important matter.

We have used the services of external agencies and therefore wish to verify that we are contacting the right person.

Please call us on FREEPHONE 0800 xxxxxxx to discuss

It wasn't addressed to me personally, just the 'Occupier', however the letter detailed my correct name.

After a bit of Googling, it seems they are a debt recovery service.
Now I have debts, but they aren't massive, I pay them regularly, never missed a payment, never made one late, and have always paid them off in full before closing accounts/cards etc. I can't understand why they would be trying to contact me??

I've a feeling it may be a scam, but I'm not too sure.
I haven't called the number, I'd like some advice if anybody can help me out. I've never had anything like this is the past, and tbh it's a bit worrying:(

No its not a scam there just chasing a debtor who they cant find and want you to contact them into giving them details you will see some more letters come through the post but thats all, just keep binning them.

If you call them they will just harrass you more.

But the person who they said they were trying to contact was ME!

    The letter started Dear Sir/Madam,

We are writing to you because we are trying to contact XXX, concerning an important matter.

In the XXX was my name.

There is no reason that I know about why somebody would be chasing me for money??

It could be someone else with the same/similar name to you!

Just ignore it, if you're certain that you have no outstanding debts then bin it and any others that you may get.
