I have just read the OP and the reply's above, for what it's worth I have just spent hours trying to sort out a similar problem for an elderly friend. Trying to get through to virgin media is a feat in it's self, but the upshot of all this was "Oh we will send you out a newer router" all this after my initial 55 min phone call with one of their tech support chaps who sent me away with what turned out to be the wrong info"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0 -
change the angle on the router aerial so it is more horizontal!!
