URGENT :Help with npower
I get a combined gas & electrity bill from Npower every 6 months my last bill was estimated so when i gave them my true figures i ended owing them £1900  . They agreed for me to pay £250 per month . I have kept this up . I had a payment due 28th feb , i coundnt pay it then because my car broke and i had to have it fixed so i thought id pay it this month . I have just got my final bill at the garage and its going to be £180 so i wont beable to pay my gas & electric till next month . I rang Npower and explained the whole situation that i am just on a big expense this month ,i even asked could i pay double next month but the lady just said she cant do nothing for me . I feel so worried i know it must seem like i dont want to pay but i am sure they can see that i am a good payer im just having a bit of bad luck
The lady did suggest a pre payment metre but i dont know why i just would not prefer to have one .

Pay something. Like £70. It is easier for them to put you to the bottom of the pile if you do that - and by the time they get back to your case, you will probably have paid them another month.
And always compare your estimates with your meter so you don't get into a mess like this.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Whilst I appreciate & genuinely sympathise with your difficulties, much as it pains me to say it (I believe Npower are a dreadful company, prone to misleading and bullying customers if they think they can get away with it) I can understand why they won't just wait two months I'm afraid.
(This is intended as a genuine question, the answer to which I can't tell from your post, not as a judgment) but is there a specific reason your car is more important to you than paying your energy bill (eg if you were disabled, had a disabled child, or simply lived in an area with no public transport, needed it for work etc you may have more chance of making a case than if you simply don't want to be without your car but lived in a town with lots of alternative transport available).
I'm not sure whether you could afford to pay double next month, or if you were just desperate to find a way around this, but if you are struggling financially in general then you may be able to do something about the £250 figure as suppliers are supposed to consider affordability when setting payment plans & if the debt accrued over a year you should be able to pay it back over a similar period (CAB / Consumer Focus etc may be able to help you with this if necessary)
.
I agree with the above poster that to send something rather than nothing if you possibly can may be helpful
Either way, it may be a long shot but you could perhaps also try the Energy Trust, which is funded by but run independently of Npower, for help
