House insurance for Ltd company equipment

I'm a web designer working under my own Ltd company. I need to buy a new laptop, which would be used in and away from home.
I just wanted to know if my house insurance covers Ltd company equipment. As it is essentially owned by the company and not me.
To be on the safe side do i buy it in my name and claim the expenses with my company.
cheers

Your house insurance will not cover equipment belonging to a Ltd company.
If you were self employed alot of house insurance policies include cover for business equipment, usually upto £5k but for certain types of items.0
