Curiosity question about car insurance quotes?

When checking out car insurance prices recently on all of the major price comparison sites I have noticed something odd that I’m hoping someone can answer for me.
I have noticed that if I state I park my car on a public street over night a lot of the insurance quotes come back just short of £100 cheaper than if I state my car is locked away in my garage over night.
Now, I am rather confused over this as shouldn't it be the other way around?
Anyone got any idea why I’m being quoted cheaper prices for parking my car on the street outside my house rather than keeping it locked away in my garage?

Must be based on claims (eg more claims for damage done when negotiating into a garage than for damage done when left on the road).0

stating i park on the drive overnight makes no difference to my quotes
so i just say its parked on the road,as theres nights i forget/cant be bothered to put it on the drive0 -
In some areas, theft of cars with a burglary are a major issue. (break into house, steal car keys at same time, drive away in car).
If the car is in the garage or private driveway then they can find the car easily. If its parked in the street its harder
Also some idiots damage their cars driving in and out of their garage thus making it more of a risk parking in a garage
I don't understand their logic either0 -

Not too sure about that, mine is either on the drive, or I leave it across the drive if it's on the road.
It also lights up like a christmas tree if you stand within 100ft of it and use the remote.0
