it depends, i know people who collect old MBNA cards - in order to increase their chances of repeat deals being offered.
depending on what you are trying to achieve, it could be clear to close or it could be worthwhile to retain.
MBNA, Lloyds and RBS/NatWest cards seem to offer repeat deals.
Halifax i have always found are best to close and then reapply for a new card to get another deal.
maybe you want to just keep the card & use it for some spending?0 -
Many credit cards have none or low usage fees and apply a charge if the card is unused.
