Non matching items

I recently bought a toaster and kettle from 2 different suppliers about a month apart. They both claim to be the same colour but they are not. I am really disapointed as they were the finishing items for my kitchen. I have written to the company and asked why they do not match, they have apologized and said manufactured different factories, and suggest I do not place them together! They will raise the issue with their quality control department.
Do I have a complaint under Trade Desription? Any advice welcome, thanks

I don't think you have any legal recourse against any of the suppliers as you didn't buy them as a pair, eg, no single supplier has said that these two items you've purchased from us match in terms of colour.
When and how did you purchase these items? If it was recent and online you may be able to return them for a refund under the DSRs.0 -
Thanks for your response, I figured I was on thin ground. I have written again to the company to express my disapointment and ask if it is possible to supply me with matching items. I do not feel I am being unreasonable, they are described as being the same colour, but one is brillient white and one is dull off white. I would also point out that wallpaper manufactures have to state that rolls may not match - why not other suppliers?
I agree they were not sold as a pair, but this manufacturer often sells the two together at a reduced price over a number of colours, so I do not think it is unreasonable to expect a colour match, regardless of when purchased.
Worth one last shot to get what I thought I had purchased - matching items.0
