Claim back difference if price drops?

I used to have a credit card that would offer protection over price drops/sales so that if you bought an item and it went on sale within a period, the credit card would offer the difference back to you. Is this still offered on some credit cards? I currently use the Tesco Clubcard credit card, does anyone know if this is offered on that card?

Thanks
Allan

Egg Money do for the moment - they have been sold to Barclaycard so it may not last.

thats a good start, now if only I could find out if Tesco did that. Long story short, bought an iPad just after xmas and they have now come down in price by £100 so it would be nice to get that back!

Whats wrong with legitimately claiming something back that you pay for?? These little bonusses are one of the reasons you pay interest on a credit card (apart from the obvious).

The release date for Ipad 2 has been known for a while, if you were that worried about the price you should have waited, as it was obvious that the price would probably drop once it became an 'old model'

hem bonuses are not one of the reasons you pay interest.
You pay interest because you borrowed money over a period of time.

Yes, that was the obvious part I put in brackets! You also pay either a fee or extra interest for protection etc.

And yes the iPad 2 has been rumoured for a while and yes I paid good money for the iPad and dont regre it. No, I am not upset if I dont get anything back but if you had the chance to get a free £100 back, wouldnt you? If not, why on earth are you on this website???

To save money of course!, I've got the Egg Money card that (currently) has that protection (for 30 days), or the old Nationwide credit card that could give me a years extra warranty had I bought it.

The moneysaving option in your case could only have been to wait until iPad 2 was released and the inevitable price drops, as your card didn't offer the same facility

Well I didnt have the option to wait, I needed it when I bought it.

And I am not bothered about the price-drop, I just thought it was worth a try!

Nobody needs an ipad. They might be very useful and desirable, but you didn't need one.
