    Thanks for all your replies

    @MrsManda

    I live in the middle of the lake district so which ever way i look at it it takes me 1 1/2 hours before i reach a motorway to lancaster or liverpool or the main A road to Newcastle. Lovely area to live in a complete pain to get out of!

    @Sunnyone

    Sorry to hear of your position. I was injured May 2006 on the way to look at a wedding venue with my wife of all things! I was walking wounded and went to casulaty that night..

    Id like some pain relief and a decent nights sleep. It seems to be getting worse at present and ive started with dizzy spells which i think they want to see if their related to my back. Took me 12 months to get an MRI from my GP's, i think they thought i was being fradulant which is something i never have been. Anyway the PROOF is there!! Ive moved GP's now as i moved at what do you know i get sent to see the right people on my first visit!!

    what happened with your crash? did you get seen by the right people straight away?

    I was hospitalised for a canny while and then I was told to wait till the spinal shock eased, it didnt and my symptoms got much worse till I had further surgery 2 years after the crash and when they opened me up the nerves were completelty fluffed but I do have a congential spinal condition which made things much worse.

    Are you seeing a pain management specialist?

    They can also help you get to sleep if its pain thats preventing you sleeping, there are also meds for nerve damage if you get the burning/freezing/weired sensations common with nerve damage, relaxation therapies can also help you to cope.

    I think today everyone is seen as fraudulent when it comes to car accidents because so many people claim to be seriously injured but mostly the seriously injured do get treated seriously enough so you have been a bit unlucky their IMHO but you probably know that.

    Fortunatly I was believed by the insurance company and got a few quid for my injuries but nothing can compensate me for what I have suffered.

    My previous GP was useless and thats a compliment. He didnt refer me to anyone, i had to see a trainee gp just to get refered for an mri. Ive never been sent to a pain management specialist. IM just on tramadol, baclofen, co dydramol and diclofenac... for the pain and others for other probs.... I rattle when i walk :j

    Im going to ring up my legal helpline and see where i satnd with regards to mis diagnosis on my insurance claim.

    I sometimes get pins and needles in my left left leg down to my ankle, on odd occassions in my foot. I get stabbing pains in different places on my left and right legs and i get awful butt ache lol, and its constantly pulsating with pain from my back to the tips of my toes, and this dizziness is driving me crazy. Whatever happens it hurts all the time. But im alive and there are poeple alot worse off than me and i have to be thankful the crash wasnt worse, my wife wasnt injured like me and im now a father to a beautiful 9 month old daughter.:T

    Our three year old was in the car with myself and my husband when the accident happened and I thank the lord that she wasnt injured, I would take everything I have had to rather than have her hurt even a little bit.

    Do you know that diclofenac can kill you?

    And thats not over egging the pudding, I now have a huge duodenal ulcer and my duodenam is badly scarred from previous unknow ulcers which i got directally from diclfenac, it should never even be taken in the short time without stomach protection because its so dangerous.

    I would ask to see a pain managment specialist alongside the neuro referal if I was you, have you had physio etc. to see if they can help?

    My Mum is under the RVI and I believe her consultant is considered one of the top neuro consultants in the North. She has a problem in which she slipped a disc and it severed her spinal cord, they've done some good work on her. She was paralysed from the waist down initially as well as being doubly incontinent but after she was operated on she now is continent and has limited movement.

    Hope you get it sorted :) good luck.

  • Well i booked my appointment: The James Cook University Hospital. And they will pay for my accomadation. They where the only one. I wouldnt trust my life with Lancasater or Preston through previous experience.

    I hope i dont come out in a body bag from these!!!!!!!!!
