Would you suggest that 14 days is actually a 'reasonable' amount of time given the average length of delivery for large furniture? to be on the safe side I would say at least 28 days just to be on the safe side...

    Hmmm interesting point.

If i were in that situation it would probably depend on how big the items are and how small my house is :rotfl: Luckily my bedroom is massive and i could even keep a 3 piece suite in there without it getting the way :D

And cause more inconvenience to the OP? Why not tell them they can pick it up when they feel like it.

This has been covered before I'm sure. From memory they have 6 months to pick it up. If you sell it before that period elapses they can claim the money from you.

14 days is a reasonable time for them to contact the op to arrange whatever return is going to happen.

Leaving it for 6 months is as if it has been abandoned.

The onus is on them to collect the unsolicited goods they have delivered

I think you're trying to play with words to make an argument sound stronger. The correct term is goods sent in error, goods sent in error are not unsolicited so you can't try applying the same rules for unsolicited goods in this case.

Not trying to disregard your point but it was delivered the day after I ordered it over the phone (although actually I had arranged for it to be delivered the week after! That was another error on their part but luckily I was in to take delivery).

That was the first thing I did! The desk wasn't particularly cheap and I am not blessed with endless finances, so I was quick to make sure this wasn't the case!

However, after a few more phone calls to try to get them to come and collect the desk, they have finally committed to something and have said they'll pick it up next Monday... time will tell if they actually turn up.

Make sure they give you some sort of receipt.

If not, print one up from your PC.
