woould love to know how to make some decorations i saw last year in a charity shop. they were round baubles made from old cristmas cards 6 or eight that where sort of cut round with pinking shears and then folded to make centre of each circle square and pinked round bits stuck together to make a round bauble

    does that make any sense?

Years ago we went to live in spain, we had very little money and no decorations also no-one in our village had a Xmas tree as they just don't have that tradition - anyhow a friend dug up a (small) pine tree from his mountain terrace plot and I got a load of white paper table clothes for free. (The cheap stuff, on a roll) I cut off strips and rolled them into roses - different sizes - twisted the base and held with some type of wire that someone gave me. Then I lined them up on some plastic bags and newspaper and sprayed them with some paint - some red, others gold. (Paint came from a guy who patched up car paint work).

You wouldn't believe how amazing they looked - they kept for years and didn't cost a penny!

every christmas eve, we go for a long walk in the country, we collect all different types of leaves, berries, holly ect. i use these to make table decorations and fill vases, they usually last the whole of the holidays, they make it very festive and best of all they are completely free
    you could easily do these.

I love home-made crafty things for christmas :) An idea I've seen online (LINK) was to make a pom-pom garland. Wool can be bought very cheaply for around £1 for a large ball.
