Maybe I should change them more often and/or put them in with the bath towels.
envy you your limited dust! I'll often use a duster per room, then another cloth for ''wet'' cleaning and sometimes yet another for manky window frames etc..but yes, I would personally change teatowels more often, and kitchen cleaning clothes. For bathroom I use a new face cloth each day for me, and then wipe bathroom clean areas (bath, sink, tiles) over with this, discard and leave, much like cleaning cloths. I then also give a ''proper clean'' once a week and then clean that cloth...so one use. Kitchen, likewise, its a clean cloth every day for benches and daily wipe downs and spills.0 -
I use the muslins I used for nursing as catch alls in the kitchen - for clearing up worktop spills and the like. Newspapers for the windows microfibre cloths and sponges for general cleaning. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

A vote from me FOR kitchen roll, I don't use masses but I think it's cheaper to use kr and throw it away than put chips (for example) on a clean tea towel then use detergent, hot water and electricity to clean it.Slightly bitter0

I use kitchen roll sparingly, about three rolls a year at most. Mostly wiping out non-stick pans and baking trays. The grotty wipe is then composted.
For all cleaning jobs I use cut up T-shirts etc.
Cut up underwear (minus crotch!) is also used for cleaning jobs.
When these have finished being useable in the kitchen/cleaning they go into the garage for really dirty jobs.
The used cloths go into the wash, after a rinse in washing up water if needed.
Eventually the remainder goes into the rag bag at the tip.0 -
I dont use tea towels either, they are thoroughly unhygienic:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0

You absolutely don't need paper kitchen towels. Save a fortune and set yourself free of their tyranny.
After reading through this thread,I have now decided to no longer buy kitchen roll!
I use it sparingly, mainly to clean the cat's dishes daily.I cut one sheet into four and use a quarter at a time.So it does last ages.
I have loads of sad looking tea towels that I can cut up and use instead. Then wash and re-use.:)0 -

LittleMissAspie wrote: »How do people wash their cloths and teatowels? I don't like to wash household cloths with other things so I bung them in a bag to save them up for washing but it takes weeks to get enough for a full load, especially as we have a 7kg machine now. Once the bag went all mouldy and I had to throw the lot away. So I tend to use kitchen roll and disposable wipes but I know this is wasteful.
Boil them that's what i do.
Sorry OP i can't help you i use kitchen roll like it's going out of fashion i buy it when it's on offer. the good brands that is0
