My car looks like it needs a bit of work
In particular a new DVD screen (£550)
A timing belt (£365). 4 new tyres. And I was
Wondering wether it's worth taking out a
Used car warranty and then claiming
For the work. Can you do this. ?

The timing belt won't be covered by a warranty as its a service item, unless it snaps then it may be covered by a warranty if you have it done changed at the correct intervals.

Tyres again are a ware and tear item.

Most warranties would probably exclude in car entertainment equipment.

Plus its fraud to take out a insurance for an event that as already happened.

This. If it needs fixing it needs fixing. You can't take out a policy and then claim on it!!!!

    Blimey.

Garage sounds well dodgy too as no-one is going to cover replacing a 'wear and tear' item as part of a service.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Are you driving a Bugati Veyron? £150-£250 tops for a cambelt (depends on car)

Who said you need 4 new tyre's I find that highly unlikely!!
Online tyre retailers, depends on tyre size.

No, used car warranties don't cover wear and tear and most don't cover electrical faults either. They normally only cover things that never go wrong.

Can you imagine taking out a used car warranty an then two days later claiming for all these items?! I think the warranty company would look into it.

My house has just burned down, does anybody know an insurance company that will insure it from yesterday?

I think I might go to a new garage. And get new quotes
Turns out the Warranty is through this garage too
    Dodgy all round I think
Didn't even think of the fraud aspect
And obviously I would never defraud anyone..

How long have you owned the car and did you buy it from the garage that made this (AHEM) suggestion?
