Forgotten Administrator password

Having recently bought a netbook I thought I had better set up an administrator account and password, unfortunately having not used it since, I have since forgotten it, I have tried every combination of what I think it is but to no avail, I have searched the web for ideas but solutions either need a restore disk (haven't got one) or suggest downloading software off some obscure website (on a separate pc) burning a disk then loading on netbook. (don't want to make matters worse by installing further problems)! has anyone got any ideas? (yes, I know it's my own fault, unfortunately out of all the passwords, PINS etc this is the one I didn't make a note of, sods law!)
cheers

Since you have a netbook, recovery is a bit more difficult.
You need Offline NT Password & Registry Editor, and UNetbootin to create a bootable USB Fash Drive with the Offline NT etc ISO file on it.
It takes a bit of know-how and quite a bit of faith, but it usually works. Best to change the password to null (i.e. no password at all) when you run it, then change it to something you will remember on next proper boot!

Netbooks have restore partitions so you can set it all back to how it was when you bought it. Check any instructions you got with it or the manufacturers website. It is usually a boot option.

If you mean you set a password in the CMOS settings which you need to enter before it will boot up then you've probably got an inefficient and costly doorstop.

Download load Hiren, www.hiren.info, has loads of very useful programmes on their. A password remover is one of them.
