When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T

Gooooood morning...happy Thursday:j:j
Hope everyone is well and busy busy. I had a good day off yesterday - took my eldest to orthodontist appt and we had a nice cuppa after. I didn't get a huge amount od Uni work done, but did do some school work:) And didn't spend much - car park, coffee, hot choc and a cake....oh and a mag to keep her quiet;)

So - off to work today...then home, no spends:)
List time:
  • check banking - move tax credits to spends acc/grocery acc
  • ckeck onepoll - £8.65 now:D
  • packed lunch for dd2
  • free cuppas at work
  • dry washing off airer and up to airing cupboard
  • lunch from home
  • meal from plan tonight - jacket pots with chicken
  • heating off during day...low later on
That's enough for me - just a quiet day here:p
Have a good one people:A

    Morning everyone.

Finally got round to phoning Mint yesterday to cancel my credit card rather than pay the increased interest rates. I meant to do it at the weekend but didn't get time. Its not a huge increase, but would have meant an extra £10 per month, which seemed silly when I don't want to use the card any more anyway.

Working away again yesterday and today so staying overnight in York last night.

Yesterday's and today's lunch plus last night's dinner are all on expenses, and breakfast is paid for. I'll visit Mr T's at lunchtime, buy as much as I can with my £5 allowance, then eat as little as possible and take the rest home for the kids. And get Clubcard points too.

On the downside, I did spend £11 on drinks last night, but I'll blame that on celebrating my contract extension.

Will raid the hotel room of its toiletries, tea, coffee and sugar before I leave (as always). I'm building up quite a collection at home now :-)

Hoping for a NSD today (or at least no spend that I can't claim back). Depends on whether I get home to an empty fridge or bread bin though!

Probably won't get time to do much else today.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Gooooood morning!
And yes determined...I am up for it!!! :j:j:j

Good game of netball last night, feeling quite energetic again!

    Today I have/will:-
    - [STRIKE]Checked banking[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Message Egg to find out why they took £39 instead of £35? Not a problem but would rather know![/STRIKE]
    - Run washing machine over night on eco 7
    - Run tumble over night on eco 7
    - [STRIKE]Restocked work larder with bargains from Lidl last night[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]HW off[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Do some surveys, VO and OnePoll[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Give DB3 my bank details so he can transfer some money[/STRIKE], he crashed my car last year (some of you might remember) and as a result my insurance has gone up by £250, he offered to pay the difference when it happened so have asked him to pay half the difference. He did offer the full amount but insurance goes up as a matter of course anyway, plus he was doing me a favour (servicing it) when he crashed it.
    - Girly friend coming round for pizza and film tonight, Pizza from stores and she will bring film
    - Sparkle!!! :A
