Got a letter from santander jumping my APR from 15.9% to 21.9%. Anyone else got a rate rise?

was looking for a reason to get rid of credit cards, this will be the first one!

    They did it to me in January, pointless as I pay my balance in full each month anyway. Idiots :rotfl:

    Mine has gone up from 24.9% to 28.9% - I haven't used it for months and luckily the balance is about £400 so will be paid off shortly and closed down. Will never recommend anyone gets an Asda card after all the hassle I've had!!

    Mine just came to the end of the 0% BT period, so no balance on it. Would seem they are trying to get rid of the non profitable customers.

    It's across the board. I'm staff and even I've been hiked (and I've got a solid credit rating too). Makes no odds to those who pay in full all the time anyways. ;)

    Whats the best way to shut the account phone or letter?

    Over the phone. Make sure you go through to retentions and make sure they shut it down. I'd then call the following day and ask the CC team to double check and make sure (applies to anything you're trying to close with anywhere really). ;)
