Can anyone tell me the best credit card to pay for a holiday please?

I could pay cash but know I'm covered better if paying by card.

Seriously though - you have the same consumer protection from any credit card, so then it comes down to the question: will you be paying off the balance in one go before paying interest or not.

I don't have a credit card already I have tried to avoid them!

I can pay off the full amount avoiding interest. But want one that has no hidden charges i.e. if used solely for this purpose

All credit cards don't charge you interest if you pay off on time (although some travel agents add on a fee for using credit cards).
If this is the case then put £1 on the card as this will give you protection then pay for the rest by debit card.

The most suitable card is probably from your bank.
That's because you probably lack a lot of credit history and your bank has internal records that they can consult abnout how you manage your account that other comapnies don't have access too.
Your first card might have a low limit but that doesn't matter as you don't need to pay the whole lot to get the protection you seek.
