Incapacity Benefit and an inheritance?

Hi,

My question is :

I receive long term incapacity benefit. My mum died last year, and she shared this house with myself and my partner.

When she died she left me her share of the house in her will, this was to make sure we had somewhere to live when she had died.

Myself and my partner pay the mortgage for our share of the house. My mum paid for her half of the house with cash when we moved in.

Will this have any effect of me continuing to receive Incapacity Benefit?

Do I have to let them know of this change?

Your thoughts would be most welcome

Incapacity Benefit is not affected by anything else you have coming in so don't worry.

Who owns the other half of the house, how can she have left you half the house if you are paying mortgage on it.

    Its very confusing.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I took to bry to mean that the house ownership was split two ways, with bry and partner owning one part and bry's mother owning the other.

Would someone who knows better comment, please, but I don't think that inheriting a share of the house that is your main residence would affect even means-tested benefits.
