I wouldn't clean it with turps, wait til it drys then scrape it off and then you should be able to give it a scrub with a floor cleaner or something similar.
You would have a valid claim if you have accidental damage cover but it will cost you your excess just for the Insurers to send a professional cleaning company to clean the laminate so probably not worth it.0 -
Damage by pets is almost certainly not included. Damage to furniture normally isn't, so I'd have a read of your policy documentation if I were you.I am a mortgage broker. Thanks for your replys , i pay extra for accidental damage would this not mean i would be covered because it was an accident ?0

As advised - check the policy for the accidental cover you have - as already posted, accidental damage by domestic pets is often excluded.0

I would also investigate what it costs to clean BEFORE* calling your insurer.
Your insurer will not replace if it can be cleaned and there are some specialist cleaning companies.
*There are anecdotal reports of even a question marking your policy with an incident.0 -
As advised above, I would not mention that the dog had done it. Damage caused by pets is usually excluded.
Accidental damage would cover for paint spillages but you would be advised to check your excess and see if it worth claiming before contacting your insurer as it would normally be recorded as a claim/accident/loss against the policy even if you don't proceed with the claim.
You can check how this claim would affect your renewal premium by doing a couple of fake quotes with and without the claim details (you don't need to put your real contact details, just the correct property info and postcode etc). You will be able to get a rough idea of any increase in price to see if it's worth claiming.0 -
Cleaning paint off laminate floors, is really easy, all you need is a sponge some soapy water, and a bit of elbow grease, it works out cheaper than claiming off your policy, and paying the excess.0

The domestic pet exclusion would not normally apply to this scenario.
That usually just refers to biting/chewing etc of furniture and the likes.0
