Turns out I have a CCJ...

Hi guys,
First time poster and I am in dire peril. Ok maybe I am over exaggeratting slightly.
Basically I have just run a free credit report via Experian and have been told I have a CCJ on my credit rating. This isn't good....
The brief history is I had a dispute with an ex-girlfriend over some money I borrowed while we were together. She wanted me to pay her back what she thought I owed and predictably we disputed over what the actual figure was. Now she took the claim to the small claims court and I was told by numerous people that I could try mediation as the courts actually preferred if people settled without wasting the courts time.
So my ex sent her "account" of what was owed and I sent mine back noting that she has actually included multiple items more than once and/or things that simply never were bought. So I sent back my revised break down expecting her to just disagree again (the difference was a whopping £3500 - I worked out it at £1500 and she claimed it was £5000). But I received a letter back saying that I was now ordered to pay this amount as she had agreed and it was now a County Court Judgement?! No mediation, no help, no agreement, just BOOM six years of rubbish credit.
Firstly I was informed I would go through a mediation process and agree a payment method and or amount to pay back to her. Secondly I signed paperwork saying that I owed that amount, for her to suddenly agree to it and this now gives me a CCJ?! I am now untouchable for credit....
Is it that easy to screw up peoples credit?! If so my mortal enemies are in for a shock when they apply for a fancy new store card lol.
All joking aside I cannot believe how this has happened and I feel tricked into this and now I cannot move into a new flat because of said CCJ.
Any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You say 'I signed paperwork saying that I owed that amount'
So do you now have a ccj for £5000 or £1500?0 -
£1500 - I have been paying for about 5 months at £80 a month....0

Did you attend court after mediation, seems she must have done to get the CCJ ???0
-
No I never went to court...0

You have a forthwith order for £1500, which you admit you owe. It's not clear whether you are making payments.
To change this ccj to an instalment order, and thus prevent enforcement action, follow this factsheet
Factsheet | Reducing payments or suspending a Bailiff's Warrant on a County Court Judgment0 -
She told you it was more than it was to get you to correct it and advise of the correct amount. Oldest method of getting someone to admit a debt for court papers, to be blunt. There are few people who will not just fire a letter straight back having a rant about the inflated figures.
Truth is, had you not admitted it she would not have been able realistically to prove at court it was ever a loan. That is not to say I agree with that approach.0
