Can anyone help me get BT bill lowered?

I am currently paying £13.60 for Unlimited evening and weekend calls package (this includes line rental) and £16.40 for broadband (option 1) TOTAL £30

I was looking at the BT site to see if I could save some money by opting for another package and I found one offering the broadband and evenings/weekend package for £14 plus the line rental charge of £13.60 (I know it's only a saving of £2.40 but every little helps ;)) unfortunately this offer is only available to new customers.

Is there any way of getting the price down on my package because a couple of people have now said that they dont pay that much for broadband and calls package through BT

Thankyou all :D

If you are out of your minimum term contract, call BT and ask them what they can do to retain your business.
Alternatively, do an exchange search on https://www.samknows.com and seek a cheaper LLU provider instead of BT. It won't be difficult to find one.

I call every year and ask what they'll do for me if I agree to another 12 months broadband contract. They offer 50% reduction.

I'm currently paying £7.90/month for BT Total Broadband Option 1.

N.B. The only LLU option available at my exchange is Talk Talk and there's no way I'll risk giving them my business.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Can you tell me if Option 1 broadband allowance is enough to allow me quite a bit of usage of catch up tv's and download some music I am on Option 3 which my son set up when he lived here, he's not here now and I don't think I need the unlimited allowance and so could opt for one of the cheaper ones but I don't have a clue how much broadband I would need to be able to use my computer as much as I am at the moment..my husband does sometimes play games online but as I say I have no clue how much I am using..

    iPlayer is the problem.

Why not just log into your BT account and check how much you've used? I've just checked my use and find I have used 0.49GB so far this month. If I start to get near to 10GB, BT will send me a warning email anyway.

Click the blue My services tab.
Click the stylised green b Broadband button on the left.
Click on "View your broadband usage"
