Is car insurance affected by your month of birth?

While looking for car insurance on a comparison site, i accidentaly entered November rather than December as my month of birth. Once i had my quotes i noticed my mistake and changed it back to December. My quote then recalculated at £153 pounds more.
I though this was odd so i called the insurer who said it was to do with age. Being born in December made me a month younger than if i was born in November.
I wasn't convinced so i decided to to test this further. I changed my birth date to January to see if there was any difference. This made me another month younger, so if the insurer was correct i should have come in at a higher or similar rate. However, the quote was £99 cheaper.
These were the prices:
Nov 1980 - £823
Dec 1980 - £976
Jan 1981 - £877
I didn't change anything else other than the date of birth.
Could it be that your month of birth or even star sign affects your insurance prices? I googled this and found some discussions stating that sagitarians were the most likely of all star signs to have accidents (December = sagitarians).
Any Ideas?

Hi there,
I doubt that it will be the star signs. But I have noticed that even with the same date of birth on comparison websites, the prices keep changing when I refresh the quotes throughout the day so this may be the case.0
