Tesco Mobile unlatching

Why does it take Tesco Mobile 28 days to give me an unlatching code? There is no reason for this to take so long, as they can request it immediately. I used to live in the Netherlands, and my mobile telephone provider there was able to give me an unlatching code immediately over the phone, so I don't see why Tesco mobile can't. It means that I have to stay with them for another 28 days, which is ridiculous!

Maybe because you are not their only customer, and they prioritise those who are actually staying with them? Sounds fair enough to me.

I mean the code you need to unlock your phone so that you can switch to another provider / put in a new SIM card by another provider.

It takes them no time to find the code, you have to call them to request it anyway and they can just pull it out of the computer immediately if they wanted to. The reason they don't is that you have to stay with them longer. That's what annoys me.

Why not just find it on the internet instead?

I don't think Ofcom have placed any sort of timescale on Unlocking codes like they have with PACs.

Because Tesco owns the world. And when you own the world, you can do what you like.

You can but you have to Jailbreak your phone which then voids the warranty with Apple.
