Hi
Just phoned the helpline and they tell me we haven't Been given the grant, our due date is 8/3/2011 and i am claiming JSA . The reason they gave is that i claimed in my parents address where my benefit is paid and not my partners address as i only stay there a few times a week as we are doing it up in preparation. I couldn’t see anywhere on the form that said you had to be living at the same address and i am claiming the relevant benefits etc... Any help appreciated

Are you claiming Income Based benefits?
Is your partner's income assessed as part of these benefits?
On the form, a partner is defined as:
– a person you are married to or a person you live with as if you
are married to them, or
– a civil partner or a person you live with as if you are civil
partners.
Under this definition if you don't live together then you are not partners. If you are partners then your partner's income should be assessed to see if you are entitled to income based benefits.
You can ask for a written Statement of Reasons as to why they've declined your SSG and appeal - your decision letter will tell you how.0
