Yet another complaint!
I have recently travelled on a skiing holiday using this insurance, as the policy states that it covers winter sports. On my return I thought I might find out about the 'upgrade' for winter sports equipment contained in the policy booklet. I was told that you have to take this upgrade to be covered for any medical costs if you have an accident skiing. However, the section dealing with the winter sport upgrade only included damaged or lost equipment, lack of snow or avalanche closure. There is no reference to accidents here.
When I asked where in the policy this was stated I was told it was included under the 'other hazardous activities' section, even though there is no reference here to skiing or winter sports.
The person I spoke to said she knew winter sports weren't covered because thet are refusing loads of claims.
Be warned and don't believe what is written in the policy document.

The Nationwide cover is pretty sparse.
We went skiing last week and were able to cover the whole family with Karma for about £37. Admittedly we ditched the luggage cover and legal cover (both on house insurance) but we did add in the medical excess waiver.0
