Do you have access to any kitchen facilities? With a microwave a whole realm of possibilities open up."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I've a fridge and micro at work and just take leftovers from the night before. Save loads as we would often end up either just eating them (not good for the waistline) or throwing them out (not good for the wallet).
(There have been threads before with lots of suggestions, but can't find any for now...)0 -
I sometimes do some rice and put in egg; corn, peas, peppers; some ham or chicken.

What about salads- tuna, pasta, egg, prawn etc probably not ideal in this cold weather but it'll soon be summer, also pasties, sausage roll, quiche, pies can be heated in the microwave....0

I make soup at the weekends, freeze it in portions and then take a batch to work with me - by lunchtime it's normally defrosted and is much healthier than buying something from the canteen.
I also sometimes have salad, normally with pulses or grains (beans of some kind, couscous, bulgar wheat etc), vegetables, meat or fish and dressing on the side when I want to feel healthy and virtuous."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
I'm currently having soup and a jacket potato for lunch. one tub of soup does for two days so it's not expensive and would be even cheaper if I could be bothered to make my own soup.
Curry and rice warms up nicely in the microwave too."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
I tend to take things like soup, pasta, jackets or again just leftovers from the night before. If you don't like bread maybe put sandwich fillings in wraps or pittas? There were a few threads I think on the Old Style boards not so long ago with absolutely loads of ideas so might be worth having a look on there.0

couscous with roasted veg, wensleydale cheese and whatever else you fancy. Yummy hot or cold.
Hummous with carrot sticks, cucumber sticks etcIf having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0
