If your income ends up being under 40k this year you'll still get the family element (£10pw). If it's over £41329 you'll get nothing. (assuming just the one child & no disabilites).

firstly you should be getting £20.30 a week in child benefit as only 1 child.

As you are not currently working you can ask for the award to be based on an estimate of current yr income from april.. ensure you over estimate rather than under or could end up with an over payment. Based on 18.5K..

    Entitlements: 1920 + 1950 + 790 + 545 + 2555 = 7760

    Reduction due to income: (18500 - 6420) * 0.41 = 4952.80

    11/12 yr entitlement: 7760 - 4952.80 = 2807.20

    Weekly entitlement: 2807.20 / 52 = £53.98

  • Hi can anyone help me please?
Need some help working out tax credits for April 2013 onwards.

We have one Son aged 18 months, Husband works 39 sours approx £16500 p/a, my paid maternity leave ended April 2012 and I'm currently not working as looking g after our Son.
Did 2 months part time work (7 hrs per week) in June and July last yr earning 50 per week.
We have a mortgage and only other thing we get is child benefit. We're really struggling and wondered if there was further help.
Thanks in advance if someone could have a look at this for me.

You really would be better starting your own thread. The thread you have reopened is 2 years old and some people may get bored before they reach your post.
  • Thanks god there are people out there to help.
You need a degree to work this out.
    I work and earned £11820.00
    Hubby self employed earned £6300
Child benefit for 15 year old £20.00 per week
Industrial Injuries (which i dont think are taken into account) £31.50 per week
Have just had letter to say i will be getting £225 per month from now onwards but could be more once my p60 is looked at after the 5th April.
    Does this sound correct?
Many thanks to any one who can help.;)
